Candace grew up listening and dancing to soca, reggae and calypso music due to her West Indian father. As a child, she danced in Caribbean Caribana festivals/carnivals. Through her exploration of related music, she stumbled upon latin jazz and fell in love with latin music. She began to stock pile merengue and salsa cds and dance in her seat on the way to school. An invitation to perform a merengue routine in high school sparked her love for latin dance.

Candace has been dancing to latin music ever since. She has danced during her travels to Puerto Rica, Costa Rica, Panama, Grenada, Mexico and Canada. After graduating college, Candace got involved with Strictly Street Salsa to hone her salsa skills. She has performed and instructed salsa at several events and will began instruction of salsa classes. Candace is currently working as a full-time and freelance graphic designer.
